April 3 - May 23, 2009
Impressions of the exhibition >
In their installation "WaldRaum" (April 3 through May 23, 2009) painter Guido Zehetbauer-Salzer and jazz musician Wolfgang Muthspiel invite us to enter into their seductive "future´s memories of today´s paradise". Through their very personal artistic perception and language they interpret and sketch a variety of sensations and emotions which forest generously offers us as its gift.
Guido Zehetbauer-Salzer whose artistic production has been influenced by the fascinating phenomenon forest for years, portrays in his paintings the transcendent beauty and preciousness of a world we are risking to lose in its abundance and variety – seeing forest also as a synonym for the sense of all being. By means of formal reduction to raw structures and the excessive use of colors, he invites us to share his very personal impression of the forest universe, and to individually partake in the dream ourselves.
Internationally acclaimed jazz musician Wolfgang Muthspiel translates his own impressions of the forest´s nature into the universal language of music. Based on authentic field recordings, the sounds of strings and electric instruments build up an independent acoustic space which guides the listener into a state of inner silence, a condition usually provoked only by the forest itself.
